Background and Credentials
Dr. Elsa C. Castro is a second-generation dentist, born and raised in Lima-Peru. She attended UC Davis for undergraduate education in Human Physiology and graduated in 1998 from UCSF School of Dentistry, obtaining a Bachelor Degree in Dental Science and Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) degree. While working in private practice, she volunteered and worked as Health Science Assistant Clinical Professor at UCSF from 2013-2018. Dr. Castro’s passion for learning new concepts and keeping up to date with research had taken her to travel abroad having attended seminars in Japan and undergone extensive training in Comprehensive Dentistry at the Royal Dental Hospital in Melbourne, Australia in 2019.
Dr. Castro is passionate about prevention and believes that dental care goes hand in hand with the overall care of the body, having recently joined the International Academy of Biological Dentistry and Medicine (IABDM). She continues to keep up to date with the latest industry journals and research being an active member of the California Dental (CDA) Association and American Dental Association (ADA).
Dr. Castro is a mother of two children and sees children of all ages in her dental practice.
